Three-year resident of Ormond Beach, Executive Chef Mark Pullin is making some noise around Volusia County. After opening Blau Grill, Fusion 43 and 31 Supper Club, Chef wanted to venture out on his own and have a more personal interaction with his fellow foodies! A man in Orlando contacted him and let him know NASA had retired one of the trucks that shipped the astronauts from the station to the shuttle, only 3,000 miles on it and fully stocked with everything he could need to make gourmet meals. Thus, the Good Food Truck was born! A few fun facts about Chef Mark Pullin, studying under Chef Roy Yamaguchi and Chef Randy Oviot, he has cooked for big names such as; Kid Rock, Martha Stewart, Bobby Flay, Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, Paris Hilton, President’s Secret Service, Chris Angel and many more. And to think… someone of this stature lives right in Ormond Beach! In 2011, he beat out 20 other competitors in the Taste of the NFL and was crowned culinary champion, allowing him to cook for 3,000 people at that year’s Superbowl. Moving to Ormond Beach, FL from his hometown in Ohio – Chef hit the ground running as soon as he arrived and hasn’t skipped a beat. The Good Food Truck specializes in employee appreciation, corporate events, weddings and has recently started a fundraising tract. “Super fresh, super hot, making people happy – instead of frozen chicken fingers and all this bad stuff restaurants are putting out there. It’s awful. People deserve the best and that’s something I can give them.” You heard the Chef, no can-openers, freezers or microwaves here.
Straight Up SolGier is an organization that provides hope and help for victims of sexual abuse. “Our purpose is to raise funds for the counseling and assistance for local children and adults who have been sexually abused. Our focus is to provide funding when a child or adult cannot afford or has no adequate insurance to get the much needed counseling. We also hope to educate the community on how to help these children & adults and “why” they must care!”

Each Friday from 11:30am – 1:00pm the Good Food Truck & Chef Mark sit out front the Top Build building awaiting their employees to get hungry for lunch. A portion of proceeds from each entree is donated to the foundation, on top of 100% of proceeds for drinks & snacks purchased. That is then matched by Top Build at the end of each week! A tent is set up in front of the truck filled with educational material about the organization and a rep to answer any questions the hungry employees may have.
What a great way to gain awareness and donations for your organizations then to center it around something everyone loves and is a basic biological necessity?! People LOVE good food and to help out people in need… and it’s a nice change up from the 5k, car wash or bake sale route (that can easily be intertwined with this as well!)
Can anyone say… Follow the 420 truck 5k? I’m not a runner myself… but I would chase after a good meal if it was driving away 😉
